A Note On The Digital Age

When I was a young lawyer big law firms had a distinct advantage over small firms or solo attorneys. They would hire bright young people and throw them in their legal libraries to discover legal theories or case law the support their client’s claims. It was dusty and time consuming work.
By the time I started my own practice, most of the case law and other law journals had been digitalized and were available on the internet, for a price. Each year more digitalization occurs and I have endeavored to stay ahead of the curve in all forms of modernization.
This is how, as a solo attorney, I can prevail over large firms for a fraction of the large firm price. A computer with an internet access has proven to be a great leveler.
